The quantum leaps forward between
each edition are growing larger every time, and are nearly impossible to
explain in words. They must be explored visually to get the full impact of the
“Ah ha!” experience.
Evolution of the
Family Forest® Project
The Family Forest® Project started with Bruce growing the Delaware Family
Forest. For an individual to be included, he or she must have 1) been born,
married, or died in Delaware, or 2) done something historically noteworthy in
Delaware, or 3) been related through birth, marriage or occasionally adoption
to someone in the first two categories. Accessing this title required the use
of Family Tree Maker.
Simultaneously Kristine was growing the Pittsburgh
Family Forest. For an individual to be included, he or she must have 1) been
born, married, or died in Pittsburgh, or 2) done something historically
noteworthy in Pittsburgh, or 3) been related through birth, marriage or
occasionally adoption to someone in the first two categories. Accessing this
title also required the use of Family Tree Maker.
Bruce’s next title was the Founders &
Patriots Family Forest. For an individual to be included, he or she
must have 1) been in the 1911 Register of The Order of The Founders and
Patriots of America, or 2) been related through birth, marriage or occasionally
adoption to someone in the first category. Accessing this title also required
the use of Family Tree Maker.
Simultaneously Kristine was growing the Presidential
Family Forest. For an individual to be included, he or she must have 1) been a
U. S. President or Vice President, or 2) been related through birth, marriage
or occasionally adoption to someone in the first category. This was the first
Family Forest title to be a stand-alone CD, as it offered the vastly superior
search and display capabilities of Progeny Software’s Family Explorer. It also
included greatly expanded and enhanced versions of our first three titles,
which were accessible via an unlocking code.
The American & European Family Forest Millennium Edition
was the first edition to begin merging our earlier titles, which were all
growing enormously, and each was increasingly overlapping with the other three
titles. Delaware and Pittsburgh were merged (manually, guided by human
intelligence) to become the much larger Mid-Atlantic Family Forest. The disc
also included much larger versions of the Founders & Patriots Family Forest
and the Presidential Family Forest. Also, starting before the end of the last
century (and still the guiding rule), for an individual to be included in
Family Forest, he or she must be related through birth, marriage or
occasionally adoption to someone who is already in the Family Forest.
The American & European Family Forest Odyssey Edition was
the first Family Forest edition to include all of our earlier titles merged
into one extremely interconnected web of fully sourced family ties spanning
over twenty centuries. Now for the first time, one search would globally search
through all of the people in the entire Family Forest.
The Family Forest 2002 Edition completed the merge process, and was the title
that really began showing the accelerating growth taking place in the Family
Forest now that the very broad foundation and very tall framework were solidly
in place.
The Family Forest World Record Edition
was the hugest leap forward yet in the history of the Family Forest Project,
but it only hinted at what was coming next.
The Family Forest Leadership Edition was
by far an even larger leap forward, and again, it only hinted at what was coming
next, the enormously expanded Family Forest New World Edition.
So now, you and your family can be experiencing
the delight and enrichment of exploring the world’s most interconnected digital
resource for ancestral history, the
Family Forest® New World Edition.
Thank you for your early support of our Family Forest® Project.
