Six Degrees of Separation from Royalty

(Press Release; for immediate release)

Kamuela, HI March 18, 2004 – Television viewers and movie-goers will marvel at all of the surprising Kevin Bacon "Six Degrees of Separation"- type Family Forest® interconnections they can explore between famous people in classic movies, television programs, popular books, and the news.

This coming weekend A&E Networks is debuting "The Last King" about the life of Charles II, King of England. So we explored in the Family Forest to discover some of the many recognizable people who, according to the many centuries of professionally recorded ancestral history pathways we have carefully mapped out so far, are believed to be descended from Charles II.

One of the many descendants of Charles II is Hollywood actor Rene Auberjonois, who is an 8th-great-grandson. Rene has played a number of memorable roles on TV, such as Odo the shape-shifter on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but by many he will be most remembered as the fighting preacher who fought next to Mel Gibson in "The Patriot."

Mel Gibson is currently in the news for his box office record-breaking release of "The Passion of The Christ." Some of the well-known internationally famous characters from his movie have recently been lineage-linked into the Family Forest. This produces fascinating visual maps of generation-by-generation ancestral pathways that can provide enriching additional insights to fans of Dan Brown's best seller "The Da Vinci Code."

The Merovingian Kings in "The Da Vinci Code" were ancestors of at least two of the famous key characters in another Mel Gibson movie, "Braveheart." They were Edward I "Longshanks," King of England, and Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland.

"Longshanks" and Robert the Bruce were both ancestors of Charles II, King of Great Britain (and therefore, also of Rene Auberjonois).

Thus we come full circle, without taking the Family Forest side trips that could have been taken to Saint Patrick, to either of the two cousins who are competing to become our next president, Senator John Forbes Kerry and President George Walker Bush, or to many other famous people in classic movies, television programs, popular books, and the news.
